Hope you are enjoying autumn where you live! The colors of nature are brilliant and trees are slowly dropping leaves. Below is info about our 3rd fair/expo. As you can see, it is a community event bringing together a number of organizations, individuals and businesses. We feel fortunate to have Judy Wicks, all of the Presenters, Vendors and sponsors/supporters who's participation helps strengthen our community.
The 3rd Annual ''Simply Healthy: Creating Sustainable Communities" Simply Living Fair and Wellness Expo, Local Foods and Aging Well is November 13th, 14th and 15th, 2007. Keynote Presenter Judy Wicks, who is owner and founder of Philadelphia’s 25-year-old White Dog Cafe, and is a national leader in the local, living economies movement will speak in the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium on Thursday, November 13th at 7:00pm.
On Friday evening, November 14th there will be a Local Foods Dinner at $35 per plate. Enjoy a four-course dinner of locally grown, seasonal ingredients, including presentations from farmers. Learn about the Local Growers Guild and their contribution to rebuilding our local food economy.
On Saturday, November 15th, from 9:00am to 5:00 pm choose from more than two dozen workshops and visit the Free Vendors area. $11 General Admission, Students and Seniors $9, Children are Free (unless there is a specifed materials fee). Childcare available with pre-registration. At 7:00 pm attend the Healing Sound Concert - $11 in advance. Featuring the Bil Whitefeather, Native American Flutes , Ryan Anderson, Sacred Healing Rhythms, Dark Side Tribal Belly Dancers, Baraka, Janiece Jaffee Patricia C. Coleman and Paul Swanson. Opening Words by Reverend Bill Breeden.

"Simply Healthy" is an opportunity to get a glimpse at services and products that might be of use to you in aging well. It is an opportunity to explore simply living resources, holistic and alternative health topics and resources through lectures, workshops and talking with experts.

There has also been a lot with computers! At the moment, I am waiting to see if what I had been working on can be extracted from the crashed mother board. If it can be saved then I will not have to try and recreate it all. Too bad the computer would no longer recognize the external hard drive, so I couldn't save anything!

In a few months the Indiana Holistic Health Network, The Center for Sustainable Living, Good Life Alternative, Reiki Peace and Wellness Arts and the Caldwell Center will host our 3rd annual fair and wellness expo. This year our event is “Simply Healthy: Creating Sustainable Communities” Simply Living Fair and Wellness Expo, November 14th and 15th, 2008 in the Unitarian Universalist Church, Bloomington, IN and will focus on Local Foods and Aging Well!
We anticipate another year of diverse and exciting presentations and vendors. This years Expo presents opportunities for the local food and wellness community to share knowledge and resources with the larger community, to explore and deepen our understandings of the complementary relationship of food to wellness. There will be opportunities to expand knowledge of what local food means to a sustainable community and how we can support successful development of a thriving local food economy. Connect with local food providers, learn about CSA's resources and more. Participate in wellness presentations from holistic therapist, service providers, and others, many featuring presentations directed toward various aspects of aging well. Knowledgeable and engaging Presenters and Vendors are coming from across Indiana, and many other areas.
This event is convened by The Indiana Holistic Health Network, a project of Green Dove Network, Inc, under the umbrella of the 501(c)3 Sustainable Living Center, Inc.,in cooperation with Reiki Peace and Wellness Arts, Local Food, Good Life Alternative, local Growers Guild, Caldwell Center, and others.
We hope you will join with us in our exploration into living and aging well in sustainable community.

Coleman, The Gandharvas and “Calling the Sounds of White Buffalo Calf Woman” with Lisa-Marie Napoli, Jeffrey Miller, Bil Whitefeather and other special guests. Native American drum, flute, and crystal singing bowls combine to create a multi-sensory performance celebrating the prophecy of White Buffalo Calf Woman.
